Sayonara Wreck at Turneffe Islands is an intermediate wreck dive on a steel-hulled vessel that sank on the eastern reef flat and now serves as a fascinating artificial reef. The wreck sits in 12-18 meters of water, listing slightly to one side with its hull largely intact. Hard and soft corals have colonized every surface, transforming the ship into a living reef structure. The interior is accessible through several large openings, revealing holds filled with schooling glassy sweepers and the occasional nurse shark. The wreck's proximity to the natural reef means diverse fish life moves freely between the two habitats, creating an exceptionally rich dive.
