Stingray Motel at Turneffe Islands is an intermediate dive site where a series of sandy depressions between coral ridges create natural resting spots for multiple species of rays. Southern stingrays, yellow stingrays, and occasionally spotted eagle rays can be found settled on the warm sand, often partially buried. The surrounding coral ridges at 12-18 meters host healthy growths of brain coral, staghorn coral, and large sea fans. Yellowhead jawfish maintain their burrows in the sand, and cleaning stations on nearby coral heads attract Nassau groupers and coney. A relaxing site offering reliable ray encounters in a beautiful reef setting.
