La Congriera (The Conger Den) is an advanced deep dive to 32 meters near Valdivia in southern Chile. As its name suggests, this site is renowned for its population of large conger eels inhabiting the deep rocky crevices and overhangs. The dark, cold southern Pacific waters create an atmospheric diving environment where the reef structure supports impressive cold-water coral growth and dense invertebrate communities. Strong currents and significant depth require advanced training, but the unique ecosystem and dramatic conger encounters make this a standout dive in Chile's south.
