La Lobera de Huiro (Sea Lion Colony of the Kelp) is a beginner-friendly dive to 17 meters near Valdivia in southern Chile. This site combines the thrill of sea lion encounters with an accessible diving environment in massive kelp forests. Playful juvenile sea lions frequently approach divers while adults hunt fish among the towering kelp fronds. The rocky reef beneath the kelp canopy hosts crabs, sea stars, and cold-water anemones.
