La Catedral

La Catedral (The Cathedral) in Zapallar is an advanced dive site featuring a stunning rock formation that creates cathedral-like arches and swim-throughs underwater. The towering rock pillars and overhead formations produce dramatic light effects as sunlight filters through the openings. Dense marine life colonizes every surface, with anemones, sponges, and bryozoans covering the walls of the natural cathedral. Strong currents feed the filter-feeding communities, and the architectural grandeur of the underwater formations makes this one of central Chile's most visually spectacular dive sites.
