La Isla Seca near Zapallar is an advanced offshore dive around a dry rocky islet rising from the Pacific. The island's underwater walls plunge steeply, creating habitat zones from shallow kelp forests to deeper rocky reef. The exposed oceanic position concentrates marine life, with large fish schools, sea lions, and occasional visiting marine mammals attracted by the rich Humboldt Current upwelling. Challenging currents and open-water conditions make this a site for experienced divers, but the pelagic encounters and pristine underwater landscape are exceptional.
