Chromis

Chromis is an advanced deep dive to 60 meters off Providencia Island in Colombia's Caribbean. Named after the abundant chromis damselfish that swirl above the reef in shimmering clouds, this site features a steep wall dropping from a shallow coral plateau into the abyss. The upper reef teems with chromis, creole wrasses, and blue tangs, while the deeper wall hosts black coral, large sea fans, and barrel sponges. Reef sharks and large groupers inhabit the deeper sections, and the clarity of Providencia's protected waters allows exceptional visibility for photographing the colorful reef life.
