Iglesias is an advanced dive to 30 meters on Costa Rica's southern Pacific coast near the Osa Peninsula. This underwater site features cathedral-like rock formations that give it its church-inspired name, with towering volcanic pinnacles creating dramatic archways and swim-throughs. The exposed location attracts large pelagic visitors including bull sharks, eagle rays, and schooling hammerheads during the right season. Dense schools of jacks and snappers swirl around the pinnacles, while the rock walls host colorful sea fans and sponges. Strong currents demand experience, but Iglesias rewards with some of the most architecturally impressive underwater landscapes on Costa Rica's Pacific coast.
