El JardÃn de la Reina (The Queen's Garden) is a beginner-friendly dive at Isla de la Juventud in Cuba. This aptly named site features stunning coral gardens with exceptional diversity of hard and soft corals spreading across a gentle reef slope. Vibrant elkhorn coral, brain coral, and pillar coral formations create a colorful underwater garden, while sea fans and plume worms add movement. The reef teems with parrotfish, wrasses, and butterflyfish, and green sea turtles graze on the algae-covered rocks. The shallow depth and calm conditions make this garden-like reef an ideal site for newer divers to experience Cuba's remarkably healthy Caribbean coral ecosystems.
