La Pared

La Pared (The Wall) is an advanced wall dive near Varadero on Cuba's northern coast. This impressive site features a sheer vertical wall dropping from the shallow reef platform into the deep blue waters of the Straits of Florida. The wall face is covered with spectacular coral and sponge growth including massive barrel sponges, colorful tube sponges, and large gorgonian fans. Black coral adorns the deeper sections, while the wall edge attracts pelagic species including jacks, barracuda, and reef sharks. The dramatic depth, strong currents, and exposed position demand advanced skills, making La Pared Varadero's most challenging and rewarding dive for experienced divers.
