Los Pinos de Camacho is an intermediate dive near Varadero on Cuba's northern coast. Named for pine-tree-shaped coral formations on the reef, this site features distinctive pillar and branching coral structures that create an underwater forest effect. The coral pines provide habitat for small tropical fish, shrimp, and nudibranchs, making it an excellent site for macro photography. Larger species including groupers, snappers, and nurse sharks inhabit the surrounding reef areas. The moderate depth and manageable conditions make Los Pinos de Camacho a unique intermediate dive that showcases the diverse coral architecture of Cuba's northern reef systems.
