Gota Abu Nugar North is an intermediate dive site at the northern tip of Abu Nugar reef south of Hurghada in Egypt's Red Sea. The reef point catches currents that bring nutrient-rich water, supporting dense concentrations of marine life. Massive schools of snappers, fusiliers, and surgeonfish gather in the current while Napoleon wrasse and turtles cruise the reef edge. The northern exposure means slightly stronger currents than the sheltered southern side, but the increased marine activity more than compensates for the added effort.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
