Arrecife Artificial is a purpose-built artificial reef dive site off the coast of Aguadulce in AlmerĂa, designed to enhance local marine biodiversity. This beginner-friendly site features concrete and metal structures placed on the sandy seabed that have been rapidly colonized by marine life over the years. Sponges, anemones, and algae coat the structures, while schools of bream, damselfish, and Mediterranean wrasse have made it their home. Octopuses and moray eels shelter in the artificial cavities, and the surrounding sand hosts flatfish and occasional angel sharks. The site's moderate depth and calm conditions make it an accessible and educational dive showcasing marine conservation in action.
