Arrecife Barrera de Posidonia at Playa de Aguadulce is a unique dive site in AlmerĂa featuring an extensive barrier reef of Posidonia oceanica seagrass. This beginner-friendly site showcases one of the Mediterranean's most important marine ecosystems, where dense seagrass meadows serve as nursery, feeding, and shelter grounds for hundreds of species. Divers glide over the undulating seagrass canopy, spotting pipefish, seahorses, and juvenile fish hiding among the blades. The reef structure created by the seagrass roots and sediment trapping is remarkable, supporting sea cucumbers, starfish, and various invertebrates. This ecological jewel offers a dive experience focused on biodiversity rather than dramatic topography.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
