
La Cala del Peñón is a beginner-friendly dive site near Aguadulce in Almería, reaching 14 meters depth in a sheltered cove around a prominent rock formation. This accessible site features a rocky reef with overhangs, small caves, and sandy channels that provide diverse habitats for Mediterranean marine life. Octopuses, moray eels, and nudibranchs inhabit the rock crevices, while schools of bream and wrasse populate the surrounding waters. The protected cove position ensures calm conditions for most of the year, and the easy shore entry makes it ideal for training dives and casual exploration. The clear Almerian waters provide good visibility for underwater photography.
