
El CabrĂłn - Cueva Grande (the Big Cave) is an advanced dive site within the El CabrĂłn marine reserve near Arinaga, Gran Canaria, featuring an impressive large cavern that penetrates deep into the volcanic cliff face. The cave entrance is wide and well-lit, leading into a spacious chamber where shafts of light create mesmerizing blue-green effects on the water. Inside, the walls are covered with sponges and encrusting life, while narval shrimp and small crustaceans inhabit the darker areas. Maximum depth reaches 20 meters, and the cave opens near prolific reef areas where groupers, barracuda, and angel sharks are regularly sighted. Proper buoyancy and cave diving awareness are essential.
