Harbor Puerto de la Cruz is a unique shore dive in the historic harbor of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife's northern coast. This beginner-friendly site offers sheltered diving among the harbor walls and volcanic rock formations, where an surprising abundance of marine life thrives despite the urban setting. Cuttlefish, octopuses, and sea cucumbers are commonly spotted, while schools of parrotfish and ornate wrasse dart between the rocks. The harbor's artificial structures provide additional habitat for sponges, tube worms, and small crabs. Night diving here is particularly rewarding, with nocturnal species like Spanish lobsters and decorator crabs emerging from their daytime hideouts.
