Semiramis is an advanced dive site off Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife's north coast, named after the former Hotel Semiramis that overlooks the ocean from the cliff above. The site features steep volcanic walls plunging from the cliff base into deep water, with impressive overhangs and ledges hosting deep-water marine communities. Black coral, gorgonians, and large sponges thrive on the current-swept walls, while groupers, conger eels, and schools of jacks patrol the deeper sections. The northern Atlantic exposure creates dynamic diving conditions with strong currents and sometimes limited visibility, making Semiramis a site for experienced divers who appreciate challenging, adrenaline-filled ocean diving.
