Palm Mar Cave (La Cueva de las Morenas) is an advanced cave dive off Palm-Mar in southern Tenerife, reaching 32 meters depth. This impressive volcanic cavern system is named for the numerous moray eels that inhabit its dark chambers, with both Mediterranean and black moray eels coiling in the crevices. The cave features multiple entrances and a large main chamber where light filters create atmospheric blue effects. The walls are covered in sponges and encrusting organisms, while shrimp and crustaceans scurry in the darker areas. Outside the cave, the reef hosts groupers, barracuda, and sea turtles. The significant depth combined with the overhead environment demands advanced cave diving awareness and excellent buoyancy control.
