La Nea is an intermediate dive site on Tenerife's eastern coast near El Rosario, reaching 30 meters depth along a volcanic reef that drops steeply from the shore. The site features impressive basalt formations with overhangs and crevices at depth, where larger marine species congregate. Groupers, black moray eels, and conger eels inhabit the deeper ledges, while barracuda and amberjack patrol the open water. The shallower sections host trumpetfish, parrotfish, and schools of damselfish, making the dive interesting at multiple depth levels. The eastern location provides generally calm surface conditions, though currents can be present at depth, requiring intermediate skills for a safe and enjoyable dive.
