San Marcos is a beginner-friendly shore dive on Tenerife's northern coast near Icod de los Vinos, offering sheltered diving in a picturesque black sand bay. The site features volcanic rock formations extending from the bay walls, creating overhangs, small caves, and crevices rich in Atlantic marine life. Trumpetfish, parrotfish, and ornate wrasse are common sightings, while octopuses and moray eels inhabit the darker recesses. The northern coast's nutrient-rich waters support dense fish populations and occasional visits from pelagic species. The natural harbor provides protection from Atlantic swell, making San Marcos one of the most reliable dive sites on Tenerife's wilder northern coast.
