Naiqoro Passage is an intermediate channel dive in the Great Astrolabe Reef off Kadavu, Fiji, where tidal currents funnel through a natural break in the barrier reef. The passage acts as a highway for marine life — manta rays use it during seasonal plankton blooms, grey reef sharks patrol its edges, and enormous schools of fish stack up in the current. The channel walls are covered in healthy hard corals and sea fans that thrive in the constant flow. Drift diving through the passage on an incoming tide is the classic way to experience this site, with the current delivering divers past an ever-changing parade of marine encounters. One of Kadavu's signature dives.
