Hoki Maru is an advanced wreck dive in Truk Lagoon, Chuuk, Micronesia, featuring a 137-metre Japanese cargo ship sunk during Operation Hailstone in 1944. The wreck is particularly notable for its cargo — the holds contain trucks, bulldozers, and construction equipment intended for building Japanese military installations across the Pacific. These vehicles remain remarkably identifiable despite decades of coral growth, creating surreal underwater scenes of heavy machinery frozen in time. The wreck sits upright on the lagoon floor, with the deck at around 30 metres. Soft corals and sea fans adorn the superstructure, while large fish shelter in the holds. An essential Truk Lagoon dive for wreck enthusiasts.
