Sankisan Maru is a beginner-friendly wreck dive in Truk Lagoon, Chuuk, Micronesia, featuring a Japanese cargo vessel that lies in relatively shallow water, making it one of the most accessible wrecks in the lagoon. The ship's upper decks and masts can be explored at comfortable depths, with coral growth transforming the structure into a colourful artificial reef. The cargo holds contain wartime munitions that have been partially colonized by marine life. Schools of batfish and fusiliers congregate around the king posts, while anemones and soft corals decorate the railings. Sankisan Maru's shallow profile and rich marine life make it an ideal choice for divers new to Truk Lagoon's wreck diving scene.
