Site 1:2 is a beginner-friendly reef dive off Yap island in Micronesia, offering accessible exploration of Yap's pristine outer reef system. The site features healthy hard coral formations sloping gently from the reef flat, with an impressive diversity of tropical fish species. Yap's remote location in the western Caroline Islands means minimal diving pressure and exceptionally healthy reefs. Butterflyfish, angelfish, and wrasses are abundant, while the occasional reef shark or turtle adds excitement. The calm conditions and moderate depth make it suitable for newly certified divers. Yap is renowned worldwide for its manta ray encounters, but its reef diving is equally outstanding and often overlooked.
