The Barge

The Barge is a beginner-friendly wreck dive in Yap's lagoon, Micronesia, where a sunken barge provides an easy and enjoyable introduction to wreck diving in warm, clear water. The flat-bottomed vessel sits upright on the sandy lagoon floor at a comfortable shallow depth. Coral growth has transformed the barge into a colourful artificial reef, with soft corals, anemones, and sponges covering every surface. Schools of glassfish swirl above the deck, while moray eels and lionfish shelter in the structure's nooks. The simple wreck layout and calm lagoon conditions make The Barge ideal for divers new to wreck exploration, and a fun night dive option when the reef comes alive after dark.
