Vertigo is an advanced wall dive off Yap, Micronesia, aptly named for the dizzying sense of exposure as the reef wall plunges straight down into abyssal depths. The sheer vertical face is covered in pristine coral growth — gorgonians, black coral, and soft corals create a living tapestry on the wall. Grey reef sharks, silvertip sharks, and schools of barracuda patrol the wall's edge, while smaller reef fish huddle in the coral. The wall's exposure to open ocean means currents can be powerful and unpredictable. For experienced divers, Vertigo provides one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring wall diving experiences in Micronesia, with the sense of hanging over infinite blue below.
