Agios Nikolaos

Agios Nikolaos is an advanced dive site near Lefkada in the Ionian Sea, reaching depths of 40 meters along a dramatic wall named after the chapel of Saint Nicholas on the shore above. The wall plunges steeply into deep blue Ionian water, covered with dense gorgonian forests, colourful sponge gardens, and false black coral at the deepest sections. Large groupers and moray eels inhabit the caves and overhangs, while schools of amberjack and barracuda sweep past in the current. The Ionian Sea's legendary clarity provides stunning visibility. The significant depth demands proper gas planning and advanced certification, but the wall's biodiversity and visual drama make it one of Lefkada's premier deep dives.
