Amaras Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Cyclades near Paros. This accessible reef features a gentle slope of rocky formations over white sand, characteristic of the Cycladic underwater landscape. The reef supports diverse Mediterranean marine life: colourful wrasse, damselfish, and sea bream are abundant, while octopus and cuttlefish shelter among the rocks. The famous Cycladic water clarity provides outstanding visibility, often exceeding 25 meters, creating a luminous diving environment. Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
