Kalamos is an intermediate dive site around the island of Kalamos in the Ionian Sea, western Greece. This lush green island offers dramatic underwater terrain with walls descending to 30 meters, covered in healthy Mediterranean marine growth. The Ionian Sea's famously clear waters provide excellent visibility, and the protected eastern coastline offers reliable diving conditions. Marine life is abundant: groupers, moray eels, and octopus inhabit the rocky terrain, while schools of bream and barracuda patrol the open water. The island's remote Ionian setting means uncrowded diving with pristine conditions rarely found in more popular Greek destinations. Accessible by boat from Lefkada or Meganisi.
