Krikri 'The Anchor' is a beginner-friendly dive site near Hersonissos on the north coast of Crete, distinguished by a large antique anchor resting on the seabed that serves as the site's landmark. The anchor, likely from a historical sailing vessel, has become encrusted with sponges and marine growth, creating an atmospheric focal point for the dive. The surrounding reef features gentle slopes with rocks and sand, hosting wrasse, damselfish, octopus, and nudibranchs. The shallow depth and calm conditions make it suitable for all levels, and the anchor provides an excellent photography subject. A charming dive that combines a touch of maritime history with relaxed Mediterranean reef exploration.
