Strongyli Island is an advanced dive around a small volcanic islet near Nisyros reaching 40 meters. This uninhabited rocky island creates dramatic diving with sheer walls plunging into deep blue Dodecanese water. The volcanic rock walls feature unique mineral deposits and thermal influence from Nisyros's active caldera. Dense gorgonian forests and massive sponge colonies thrive in the nutrient-rich volcanic waters. The exposed position attracts strong currents and impressive pelagic life: amberjack, tuna, and barracuda are regular visitors. The island's isolation means pristine marine conditions with some of the healthiest reef ecosystems in the eastern Aegean. A world-class advanced dive in a volcanic setting.
