Stingray Champagne is a beginner-friendly dive near Nisyros reaching only 8 meters, named for the combination of stingrays resting on the sandy bottom and the champagne-like volcanic gas bubbles rising from the seabed. This unique shallow site allows all divers to experience Nisyros's volcanic underwater phenomena: warm gas bubbles stream upward through the sand, creating a fizzing 'champagne' effect. Mediterranean stingrays are regularly spotted resting on the warm volcanic sand. The shallow depth and easy conditions make it accessible for snorkelers and introductory divers alike. One of the most unusual and memorable shallow dives in all of Greece.
