Agios Savvas is a beginner-friendly dive near Nisyros in the Dodecanese, reaching only 7 meters at its deepest point. Named after the chapel of Saint Savvas on the shore, this very shallow site is ideal for introductory dives and snorkelling. The volcanic rock seabed features interesting formations and mineral-coloured surfaces unique to Nisyros. Despite the minimal depth, marine life is surprisingly diverse: wrasse, damselfish, blennies, and octopus are common, while the volcanic crevices harbour small crabs and nudibranchs. Volcanic gas bubbles may occasionally be spotted rising from the sandy patches. A unique volcanic snorkel and discover scuba experience.
