Tourko Limano is an advanced dive site near Marathon on the northern Attica coast, named 'Turkish Harbour' after its historical use. This sheltered natural harbour features deeper water than surrounding sites, with steep rocky walls descending into the depths. The walls are covered with gorgonians, sponge gardens, and false coral, while the sheltered harbour floor reveals interesting marine encounters. Large groupers, moray eels, and lobsters inhabit the rocky terrain, and schools of bream and barracuda patrol the open water. The depth and confined harbour topography require advanced skills, but the combination of maritime history, dramatic underwater scenery, and diverse marine life rewards the effort.
