Gamat Bay is a sheltered dive site on the western coast of Nusa Penida, offering calm and comfortable conditions for exploring a diverse coral reef. The bay's protected position shields it from the strong currents typical of the area, creating a relaxed environment with gentle slopes descending from 3 to 20 meters over healthy coral gardens. The reef is home to an impressive array of tropical fish including sweetlips, snappers, groupers, and colorful schools of anthias, while blue-spotted stingrays and reef octopus hide in sandy patches. Green turtles frequently visit the bay to feed on sea grass, and the occasional reef shark passes through. The calm conditions and moderate depths make Gamat Bay an excellent choice for beginner divers and those looking for a relaxing dive between the more demanding sites around Nusa Penida.
