Mangrove is an advanced dive site off Nusa Lembongan, one of Bali's offshore islands, known for its strong currents, dramatic topography, and encounters with large pelagic species. The site features a channel between rocky formations where currents funnel through, creating upwellings that attract oceanic manta rays, mola mola (ocean sunfish) during the cool season from July to October, and marble rays resting on the sandy bottom. The underwater landscape includes impressive coral-covered boulders, caverns, and swim-throughs that add adventure to every dive. Thermoclines can be severe, with temperatures dropping to 18°C in the deeper sections. The challenging conditions demand strong buoyancy skills and current experience, but Mangrove rewards capable divers with thrilling big-animal encounters in a dramatic underwater setting.
