Hidden Reef is an off-the-beaten-path dive site near the Gili Islands off Lombok, featuring an underwater reef system that remains relatively undiscovered by the diving mainstream. The site offers a healthy coral slope descending from 8 to about 30 meters, with diverse hard coral formations interspersed with soft corals, sea fans, and sponges. The reef supports a vibrant fish community including batfish, sweetlips, groupers, and schools of fusiliers, while green turtles and hawksbill turtles are regularly spotted. Macro life is well represented with nudibranchs, flatworms, and ornate ghost pipefish hiding among the coral heads. Moderate currents bring nutrients that keep the reef thriving, and the lack of heavy dive traffic means marine life is more relaxed and approachable. Hidden Reef provides a quieter, more intimate diving experience compared to the busier sites around the Gili Islands.
