Turtle City/ Heaven

Turtle City, also known as Turtle Heaven, is an advanced dive site off the east coast of Gili Meno that has earned its name through one of the highest concentrations of sea turtles in the Gili Islands. The reef consists of a gentle slope with scattered coral bommies and sandy patches where up to twenty green and hawksbill turtles can be encountered on a single dive, resting on coral ledges, feeding on sponges, or gliding serenely through the water. Beyond the turtles, the site features healthy coral coverage that supports schools of sweetlips, snapper, and barracuda. Reef sharks occasionally patrol the deeper edges, and octopuses are commonly spotted on the sandy bottom. The site's popularity reflects its reliability—turtle encounters here are virtually guaranteed, making it a highlight of any Gili Islands dive trip. Turtle City exemplifies the successful marine conservation efforts that have made the Gili Islands a turtle sanctuary of international significance.
