Kelapa Dua is a rewarding dive site in the Derawan archipelago of East Kalimantan, featuring a healthy coral reef system in the productive waters between Derawan and Kakaban islands. The reef slope descends from 5 to about 28 meters with excellent hard and soft coral coverage, supporting dense populations of reef fish including schools of sweetlips, snappers, and fusiliers. Green sea turtles are abundant in the area and frequently encountered, along with reef sharks, cuttlefish, and moray eels in the wall crevices. The site is known for good macro diversity with nudibranchs, flatworms, and ornate ghost pipefish hiding among the coral formations. Moderate currents bring nutrients that sustain the reef's productivity. Kelapa Dua provides a well-rounded diving experience typical of the Derawan archipelago—combining turtle encounters, healthy coral, schooling fish, and macro life in a single dive site accessible to intermediate divers.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
