Crinoid Canyon is an intermediate dive site in Komodo National Park, named for the extraordinary density of feather stars (crinoids) that cover the reef in a kaleidoscope of colors. The canyon formation channels gentle currents that bring plankton, supporting the massive crinoid population along with soft corals and sea fans. Among the crinoids, divers discover ornate ghost pipefish, crinoid squat lobsters, and commensal shrimp perfectly camouflaged in their feathery hosts. The moderate current and stunning visual display make Crinoid Canyon one of Komodo's most photogenic and accessible dive sites.
