Wae Nilu is a scenic dive site near the eastern boundary of Komodo National Park, close to the Flores coastline, where a healthy reef system descends along a volcanic shoreline. The site features a gentle slope with excellent hard coral coverage, interspersed with soft corals and sponges that attract a diverse fish population. Sweetlips, groupers, and angelfish are common along the reef, while cuttlefish and octopus hide among the coral formations. The site is known for its clear visibility and relaxed diving conditions, providing an accessible experience for divers of varying skill levels. Its position near Flores makes it a convenient first or last dive on liveaboard itineraries through the park, offering reliable marine life encounters in a tranquil setting away from the stronger currents of central Komodo.
