Siaba Besar is a delightful dive site in Komodo National Park, known as the big sister to Siaba Kecil and equally famous for its abundant sea turtle population. The site features a healthy reef slope descending from 5 to about 25 meters, covered in diverse hard and soft coral formations that create excellent habitat for both macro and reef life. Green and hawksbill turtles are virtually guaranteed on every dive, often seen resting, feeding, or hovering at cleaning stations in remarkable numbers. The reef supports schools of sweetlips, fusiliers, and batfish, while the coral heads shelter nudibranchs, shrimp gobies, and porcelain crabs. Mild to moderate currents make Siaba Besar accessible to intermediate divers, and its reliable turtle encounters combined with healthy coral make it a highlight of any Komodo liveaboard itinerary. The site is equally enjoyable for snorkeling, with turtles often visible from the surface.
