Slope is an intermediate dive site in the Andaman Islands, India, near Havelock Island, featuring a gently descending coral reef that reaches 20 meters along an easy gradient perfect for relaxed exploration. The site's name reflects its straightforward topography, but the marine life here is anything but ordinary. The slope is covered with pristine hard coral formations hosting dense populations of reef fish including parrotfish, surgeonfish, and triggertish. Turtles are commonly encountered cruising along the slope, and octopuses hunt among the coral rubble at the base. The gradual depth profile allows for extended bottom times, making Slope ideal for divers who prefer unhurried exploration and photography. Cleaning stations along the slope attract groupers and sweetlips, providing fascinating behavioral observations. Slope exemplifies the accessible, high-quality diving that has made Havelock Island the gateway to India's most spectacular underwater landscapes.
