La Mpaddata is an advanced dive along Calabria's Ionian coast, featuring a dramatic underwater landscape of large boulders and rocky pinnacles. The site's name reflects the local dialect for this distinctive jumble of massive rocks, which create a complex terrain of swim-throughs, overhangs, and deep crevices. The walls host Mediterranean gorgonians, bright sponges, and dense schools of damselfish. Grouper and large moray eels are regular residents, while octopus hunt between the boulders. Currents and depth require solid diving experience, but the site's rugged character provides a unique Calabrian diving experience.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
