The Mountain of Scilla is an advanced dive off the legendary town of Scilla in Calabria, where Homer's mythical monster Scylla was said to dwell. A massive underwater seamount rises from the deep in the Strait of Messina, its walls cloaked in Mediterranean gorgonians, black coral, and vibrant sponge gardens. The Strait's powerful currents create a nutrient-rich upwelling that supports extraordinary biodiversity — large pelagic schools, grouper, and even the occasional swordfish or sunfish may be encountered. A mythological dive site with very real underwater wonders.
