Cala Magroni features a canyon system and the Grotta della Sorgente — the Spring Cave — along Sardinia's Gulf of Orosei, one of the Mediterranean's most pristine coastlines. The dive begins in a narrow canyon cutting through limestone cliffs to 25 meters, where light filters down between the walls creating ethereal blue-green illumination. The canyon leads to the cave entrance, where a freshwater spring emerges from the rock, creating a fascinating halocline effect where fresh and salt water mix, producing shimmering visual distortions. The cave interior features stalactites and mineral formations alongside marine life adapted to the brackish environment. Outside, the canyon walls host gorgonians, nudibranchs, and schools of Mediterranean chromis. The combination of geological drama, the rare freshwater spring phenomenon, and the wild beauty of the Orosei coastline makes this an extraordinary dive experience.
