Grotta delle Monete is an advanced cave dive along the Cyclops Coast near Catania in eastern Sicily, where volcanic lava formations have created an atmospheric underwater grotto. The cave takes its name from the coin-like mineral deposits on its walls, which shimmer in torchlight. Inside, lobsters, shrimp, and encrusting organisms thrive in the dim environment, while the entrance area hosts colorful sponges and gorgonians. The volcanic geology of Mount Etna's coastline gives this cave a unique character, combining speleological interest with rich Mediterranean marine life.
