Secca d'Africa is an intermediate seamount dive south of Ustica island, named for its position pointing toward the African coast across the open Mediterranean. The pinnacle rises to 25 meters, its walls covered in vibrant gorgonians, bright sponges, and dense Mediterranean marine growth. The open-water position attracts passing pelagic species — tuna, amberjack, and occasional oceanic visitors add excitement to every dive. Schools of barracuda and bream are permanent residents. The combination of Ustica's marine reserve protection and open-ocean exposure creates a uniquely rich and unpredictable diving experience.
