Black Rock is an intermediate dive site in Aqaba, Jordan, named for the prominent dark rock formation that marks the entry point along the coast. The reef descends to 30 meters along a slope punctuated by coral-covered boulders and sandy channels. The dark basalt rock contrasts beautifully with the surrounding coral growth, creating a visually striking landscape. Hard coral coverage is excellent on the upper reef, with table corals and staghorn formations providing habitat for dense fish populations. The deeper sections feature larger marine life including groupers, barracuda, and the occasional turtle. The sandy channels between the reef structures are productive macro hunting grounds where nudibranchs, flatworms, and small crustaceans can be found. Blue-spotted stingrays are commonly encountered resting on the sand. Black Rock's intermediate depth and reliable conditions make it a popular choice for second dives of the day.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
